"Panic Song" is the eighth song on Insomniac, written by Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt. The song has a long bass intro, which fits great in the theme of the song. So far, it has only been played live once; in France, 2012.[1]
Song meaning[edit | edit source]
The song is about panic attacks. The lyrics describe what you feel when such an attack presents itself. Alternatively, the song could also be interpreted as very anti-society (The world is a sick machine, breeding a mass of shit) and how it numbs free will, which frustrates everyone (Torn out of reality, in a state of no opinion, filled with hate).
