Song meaning[edit | edit source]
"Disappearing Boy" is about the narrator feeling invisible around others because they pay little to no attention to him. It's also about the narrator's panic and anxiety attacks and his mom's new boyfriend who he dislikes.
According to Billie, the song was inspired by an incident where Green Day had a scheduled performance at the River Theater in Guerneville, California but ended up not playing there.
