Timothy Ross Armstrong (born November 25, 1965) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, actor, record producer, filmmaker, and music video director who serves as the lead guitarist/singer of the bands Rancid and Transplants. He also co-founded the label Hellcat with Brett Gurewitz of Bad Religion, and serves as a producer/songwriter for other artists like P!nk and AFI.

Due to their having the same last name, Tim and Billie Joe Armstrong are often mistaken for brothers. Though they are good friends, they're not related at all.[1]

Tim directed the music video for Green Day's single "Bang Bang", and makes a cameo in it as a punk rocker during the bridge.
