Green Day is an American punk rock band founded in the late 1980s by childhood friends Mike Dirnt and Billie Joe Armstrong. They have sold over 85,000,000 records worldwide, and won a total of five Grammy Awards.

In April 2015, Green Day was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
