"Christie Road" is the fourth track on Kerplunk. It comes after "Welcome to Paradise" and is followed by "Private Ale".

It is one of the most popular songs off the album. The rockumentary ¡Cuatro! showed that at some point during the 99 Revolutions Tour, Billie and Mike expressed how they were fed up from the requests to play old songs such as Christie Road. However, Green Day added it on the setlist for their following tour, the Revolution Radio Tour.

Song meaning[edit | edit source]

"Christie Road" is a place for the narrator to escape from his bothersome life. A place where he can chill around without worries and get high. The song's lyrics refer to a real location, Christie Road, in Martinez, California, where Mike and Billie would get high at and relax.
