"1,000 Hours" is the first song on the EP of the same name and the 15th song on 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours.
This is one of the songs Armstrong wrote about a girl he used to be in love with, named Jennifer (his best friend's sister). She was older than him and didn't want to get into a relationship with a young and inexperienced guy, but he was obviously ready for that relationship, and so he expressed his feelings in songs.[1]
Song meaning[edit | edit source]
"1,000 Hours" is about being overwhelmed by love. All you want to do is spend time with that one special person, and when you're not around him or her you constantly dream about them and what you could do together.
